Sarkodie Calls For Music Bloggers to Collaborate with Artists

With few days left for “The Highest” Album Launch, The African Best Rapper, Sarkodie has taken to social media to express his feelings about how songs are blogged for free.

Earlier this year in a conference, Jayso who is on the album talked about measures put in place to prevent free downloads of songs from the upcoming album. It is rumored that some artists and media gurus have formed a group to put together resources to ensure a secured mode of publishing or releasing songs are done devoid of any free downloads. Jayso indicated that a lot of resources have gone into that and they hope it turns out well.

However, “The Highest Album” will be distributed by Sony Music Worldwide. During the release of Sarkodie’s 4th Album Mary, the album was available on Deezer also in addition to the other paid platforms the songs were released on. Deezer music app is available on IOS, Andriod, and Windows. This was a good move but however, it really didn’t substantially reduce the free downloads of songs.

Free Downloads of music reduce the revenue an Artist can make out of songs they release. As such Sarkodie is calling out for Bloggers to work together with the SarkNation and another aritsts brand to ensure they all make money out of their songs.
