Surveillance sunglasses used by China’s police

According to BBC news, police in China have begun using sunglasses with facial recognition technology to identify crime suspects. The sunglasses are said to have an embedded database of suspects to locate possible fugitives in the crowd during police duty.

The technology allows police officers take a picture of suspicious people to scan with pictures stored in their internal database if any possible match may be.

The Worlds biggest surveillance network, a project china is building upon is fast growing with 170 million CCTV cameras already in place and an estimated 400 million to be installed in three years to come.
